artifact: instructional strategies

This artifact is a collection of instructional strategies. Instructional strategies are different ways and approaches a teacher can make to differentiate their classroom and teaching. Using different instructional strategies gives students with different learning abilities, skills, interests, and needs more appropriate instruction to what suits them best. In this artifact there are twenty different instructional strategies with descriptions of what they are, how to use them, and examples of them being used in the classroom.

After collecting information on different instructional strategies, it expands on my knowledge of how to be a better teacher / educator. Knowing that teaching is not made to be one dimensional and uniform is different than knowing how to differentiate the teaching and how to create a learning environment that gives every student an opportunity to learn. For example, if and when I ever teach in a classroom, there is so much more to teaching than standing in front of a couple dozen students and talking at them. These instructional strategies show me how to create lessons and days of instruction that will both keep the students interested / motivated and ultimately help them learn the standards and curriculum that they need to know.
